Which medical plan will cost
you the least?

Answer a few quick questions about how you expect to use care, and we'll estimate your total cost under the 2027 ESCWR plans available to full-time employees — premium, out-of-pocket, the district's annual HSA contribution where applicable, and tax savings.

Runs entirely in your browser — nothing is saved or sent.
First, tell us about you
Which employee group are you in?
Your answer determines the plans, monthly contributions, and district annual HSA amounts used in your estimate.
First, the basics
Who are you covering?
What matters more?
What matters more to you?
There's no wrong answer — it just helps us frame the trade-offs when we show you the math.
Your provider network
Are you comfortable using only providers in the MedFlex network?
MedFlex generally requires in-network providers for covered, non-emergency care. If that network is not a fit, we’ll remove MedFlex from your estimate.
Doctor visits
How often do you see the doctor in a year?
A rough estimate for the year is fine.
Preventive check-ups $0
Covered 100% — annual physical, well-child, routine screenings
Primary-care (sick) visits
A cold, infection, injury, or follow-up
Specialist visits
Dermatology, orthopedics, cardiology, etc.
Unexpected care
Any urgent care or ER visits expected?
No crystal ball required — just a rough guess. An active lifestyle can mean the odd weekend urgent-care visit or occasional ER trip, and estimating it helps us get your numbers right.
Urgent-care visits
Walk-in clinic for minor, urgent issues
Emergency-room visits
Hospital ER for serious emergencies
Prescriptions
How about medications?
We just need the meds you take regularly, in two buckets. Not sure whether something's generic or brand? Your pharmacy label says.
Short-term — a few times a year
Short-term prescriptions
One-off fills like an antibiotic (Z-Pack) or an infection. How many courses in a typical year? Most are generic, so we count each as a single copay.
Ongoing — taken every month
Ongoing generic medications
Maintenance meds you refill monthly — we'll do the 12-fills-a-year math. Just count how many different generics.
Ongoing brand-name medications
Count how many different brand meds. We use an estimated brand cost; your actual cost depends on the drug’s tier.
Specialty medications $0
Covered via Specialty Advocacy — $0 to you, handled outside the plan
The year ahead
Any significant upcoming healthcare events that you're aware of?
Almost there
Roughly, what's your annual household income?
We use this only to estimate your potential tax savings from paying for care with pre-tax dollars. Nothing is saved.
Last one
What kind of plan are you on today?
Totally optional. Many people prefer to keep the type they already have — if you're on an HSA, we'll put those options first.

For HSA plans, total = premium + expected out-of-pocket after the district's annual HSA contribution. The contribution offsets service costs only, never below $0. PPO and MedFlex estimates do not include an employer account contribution. Other HSA deposits reduce your available contribution room. Premiums are monthly employee contributions.

Family estimates pool all entered household costs against the family deductible and out-of-pocket maximum. Individual limits within family coverage (embedded limits) are not modeled. Actual cost may be lower when care is concentrated in one person. Brand prescription costs are estimates; actual cost depends on the drug’s tier. See each plan’s details and official documents.

Planned surgery uses the plan’s hospital cost sharing. The estimate does not apply lower coinsurance available at some freestanding ambulatory surgery facilities. Review your plan documents and compare facilities before scheduling care.

Household income maps to an approximate marginal tax bracket for the separate pre-tax savings estimate; tax savings do not change the ranking. Your preference and current plan type frame the recommendation without changing the dollar math. Estimate only — not a quote.

FSA estimates use a provisional cap based on the 2026 limit; confirm the 2027 amount and your employer’s FSA rules with HR before electing.
